Meet Jason Broadbridge: Buywell’s New Portfolio Strategist

Buywell Group is growing, and we’re excited to welcome Jason Broadbridge to the team as our new Portfolio Strategist.

Jason joins Buywell with a background spanning property strategy, financial markets, investment analysis and portfolio planning. It’s a combination that brings another layer of depth to the way we help clients think beyond an individual property and build a considered, long-term investment portfolio.

An investor’s mindset

Jason brings an investor’s mindset to property acquisition.

His career has been shaped by analytical decision-making and assessing opportunities through the lens of risk, value and long-term performance. Rather than getting caught up in short-term market noise, his focus is on understanding the fundamentals of an opportunity and how it contributes to the broader portfolio.

It’s an approach that closely aligns with the way we think about property at Buywell.

A good property in isolation isn’t necessarily the right property for every investor. The role that asset needs to play will depend on the client’s existing portfolio, financial position, borrowing capacity, risk profile and what they ultimately want their wealth to achieve.

Building a roadmap, not just buying a property

As Portfolio Strategist, Jason will work closely with Buywell clients at the front end of their property journey.

That means understanding where they are today, where they want to go and mapping the pathway between the two.

Through portfolio planning, scenario modelling and investment analysis, Jason helps clients understand what each purchase needs to achieve and how decisions made today can influence their ability to continue building wealth in the future.

For some clients, the priority may be capital growth. For others, cash flow, diversification, value-add potential or maintaining the capacity to purchase again will play a greater role.

The strategy comes first. The property follows.

Bringing behavioural and financial thinking into property

Property is an unusual investment class because the numbers are only one part of the decision.

Markets are influenced by people. Investors respond to fear, confidence, competition and changing expectations. Buyers can become emotionally attached to an opportunity, overly focused on recent performance or distracted by what everyone else appears to be doing.

Jason’s analytical background adds another perspective to these decisions, helping clients cut through that noise and remain focused on the strategy they set out to execute.

It’s particularly valuable as Buywell continues to work with increasingly sophisticated investors building portfolios across different markets, price points and property types.
